Starting her career as a music video producer, Mona Scott-Young has positioned herself as a powerful television producer. Nicknamed “Monami” Scott-Young was a heavy hitter in the world of Hip-Hop and R&B. According to NPR.com, Monami was co-owner of Violator Records with Chris Lighty who passed in 2012. Violator Records and Management represented some big names such as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, and more.

According to the Huffington Post.com, Monami started her film company Monami Entertainment after 20 years of grinding in the music business. From producing music videos on the streets of Harlem with unknown artists like Pudgee to producing hit television shows for VH-1 called Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, Monami is prime for where she needs to be.

Monami is currently producing four reality shows for VH-1 called Love & Hip Hop, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Chrissy & Mr. Jones, and The Gossip Game, according to Monami Ent.com. Mona Scot-Young has enjoyed her success raking in a net worth $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.com. So far, I think her 20 year switch from music to television is working out well for her.

As a spinoff from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Monami is co-executive producing a new series titled “The New Atlanta” coming September 17, 2013 to Bravo, according to TV By The Numbers.com. Check out scenes of the new Atlanta.
